What your installer needs from you

  • Your recent power bill, so they can size the battery to your real usage.
  • A few photos of your switchboard, meter and existing solar inverter.
  • Clear access to the wall where the battery will mount.
  • A decision on whether you want blackout backup.

Safety, standards and rebates

Home batteries must be installed to Australian standards by a Clean Energy Council accredited installer. That accreditation is also what unlocks the federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount and your state incentive. We only match you with accredited, vetted installers, so the standards and the rebates are both covered.

How much does it cost installed?

The prices we quote are always fully installed, including the battery, any inverter work, mounting and commissioning. See the full breakdown in how much a solar battery costs.

How long does a solar battery installation take?
Most home battery installs are done in one day. Where a switchboard upgrade, meter change or hybrid inverter swap is needed, it can stretch to a second visit. Your installer tells you upfront.
Can a battery be added to existing solar?
Yes, and that's the most common case. If your current inverter isn't battery-ready, the installer adds a compatible hybrid or AC-coupled battery. Your existing panels keep working as normal.
Who is allowed to install a home battery?
In Australia, battery systems must be installed by a Clean Energy Council accredited installer to meet the standards and qualify for rebates. Every installer we match you with is accredited and vetted.
Where does the battery go?
Usually on an external wall such as the garage or the side of the house, in a spot that stays out of direct afternoon sun. Some models can go in a garage interior. Your installer picks the best location on the day.
