Solar battery rebates in New South Wales
NSW homeowners get the federal battery discount off the invoice, and separately, an incentive of up to about $1,500 for connecting an eligible battery to an approved Virtual Power Plant.

The federal battery discount comes straight off your invoice at the point of sale. Any New South Wales incentive is separate, we show it on its own and do the maths before you talk to anyone.
- Federal Cheaper Home Batteries discount. Roughly 30% off the upfront cost, applied at the point of sale.
- NSW VPP connection incentive. A separate incentive, up to about $1,500 gross (roughly $500 to $1,015 net), for connecting an eligible battery to an approved Virtual Power Plant. It does not combine with the federal discount into one figure. From 1 July 2026 batteries up to 50kWh are eligible, though the incentive itself is calculated on the first 28kWh of usable capacity you offer to the grid.

Are solar batteries worth it in New South Wales?
